Organizations/Ministries for First Baptist Church

 Deacon Ministry are men chosen by the church to assist the pastor. The deacons are servants of the church.

The deacons make major contribution in strengthening the spiritual ministry of the church. The pastor and

deacons meet together regularly to plan and pray concerning the work of the church.  


The Deacon’s Wives or Deaconess is an organization comprised of the wives of the deacons of the church and

ministers of the church. They render special services to the church by assisting in designated tasks such as in

the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper and attending the candidates for Baptism. 


Church School is our Bible teaching ministry of the church. The textbook is the Holy Bible – the word of God.

It consists of Sunday School, Nurture for Baptist Church, Midweek Bible Study, and Vacation Bible School.

          Sunday School offers weekly classes on Sunday Morning beginning at 9:15am for all ages to help grow

          in our understanding of God’s Word.

          Midweek Bible Study seeks to lead individuals in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and to equip

          them to follow Him in ministry. Using the Bible as the textbook, study focuses on how to apply God’s

          priorities to our daily lives. Midweek Bible study begins at 6:30pm.

          Vacation Bible School normally held in June offers a week of intense Bible Study, fellowship, arts

          crafts, and various activities. This week is an opportunity to reach the lost in the community. 


Brotherhood & Laymen Ministry includes men of the church organized into Men’s Missionary movement

and in men fellowship. They lead in the study and promotion of missions and stewardship.


Music Ministry includes all of the choirs and musical aggregations of the church. The ministry is under the

Director of Music who plans and outlines its services, activities, and rehearsals. This ministry is made up of a

graded system of choirs with musicians who furnish a musical portion of all the worship services of the church.

Its musicians are responsible for furnishing music for the services.


Usher Ministry is a ministry of dedicated persons who have assumed the duty and responsibility of looking

after the welfare and comfort of the worshippers in the worship service. They serve as worship guides ensuring

the comfort and order are maintained throughout the worship service.


Youth Ministry enhances the Christian Education of the youth. This ministry provides a variety of activities

for youth focusing on discipleship, Christian Values, and service to the Church and Community.


Willing Workers give aid to the elderly and needy. Provide missionary help and welfare to the church and

community. 


Senior Mission is an organization binding together groups of Baptist Senior women who are willing to give

time to definite study of mission and make contributions of service and finance for the coming of God’s

Kingdom in every land. Enlisting and mobilizing other senior women to commit themselves to Christ, thereby

allowing them to obtain more knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to motivate and promote

positive, Christian womanhood. 


Young Women for Christ is an organization binding together groups of Baptist Junior women who are willing to give

time to definite study of mission and make contributions of service and finance for the coming of God’s

Kingdom in every land. Enlisting and mobilizing other junior women to commit themselves to Christ, thereby

allowing them to obtain more knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to motivate and promote

positive, Christian womanhood.


Greeter Ministry This is welcoming committee, they are responsible for greeting all worshippers at the front

door with a smile. They are the first faces our members/visitors see and it is pertinent that these ladies and

gentlemen make our visitors/members feel welcome here @ FMBC. 


Pastors’ Aide is a ministry to aide and assist the Pastor of the Church. 


Praise Team is a ministry of dancing by non-verbal communication to enhance the body of Christ.


M-25 Ministry is an outreach ministry that provides food and non-perishable items for those that are less

fortunate. M-25 comes from Matthew 25.


M-28 Ministry is an outreach that introduces Jesus Christ to those that are lost. M-28 comes from Matthew 28

Marriage Ministry (A.I.D.) After I Do is a ministry designed to inform, inspire and nurture marriage through

biblical principle between (male and female) husband and wife.


Single Ministry (B.I.D.) Before I Do is a ministry designed for single people that are divorced, never been

married or widowed. This ministry is to encourage Christian singles.


Faith and Finance Ministry


Your Personal Ministry each of us has been called to minister to one another and to the people that God has

placed in our circle of influence. Crucial to our church’s fruitfulness is following Christ in ministry is our

discovering and participating in a personal ministry. In order to grow in our walk with Christ and to join God in

His work, we need to commit to five keys of spiritual disciplines:


          1. Attending Weekly Worship Service

          2. Attending Sunday School and Midweek Services

          3. Daily quiet time in Bible Study and Prayer

          4. Tithing

          5. Sharing you Faith
